ANCHOR:
Heres an update on the protests in Thailand. Hundreds of anti-government protesters have left Government House today to join others at Bangkok's international airport.

STORY:
These protesters led by the People's Alliance for Democracy or PAD, have occupied Government House since late August.

But today the PAD leader told them to leave for one of Bangkok's two airports. The move will help strengthen the numbers at the airports.

[Somjit Ratchayod, Protester]:
"We had been attacked so many times. We are leaving for our own safety. Even the PAD leader cannot look after everyone. I have to leave for my own safety."

[Darunee Siriwong, Protester]:
"Our leader said we can gather in a days time, but night time might not be safe for us."

Over at the airports police have told the protesters to disperse or face jail or fines.

But as this blockade enters its seventh day there is no sign of the protesters backing down.

Now all eyes will shift to a court case that may force the government to resign and a possible resolution to the standoff.
