@stephenjordanesq Wallace wasn't a hack. He had the guts to ask direct questions to some of the most famous and controversial people in the 1950s on his fable THE MIKE WALLACE INTERVIEW. He even interviewed Barrymore's daughter Diana in 1957 during the time she was selling her book "Too Much, Too Soon". Wallace graciously donated many of the interviews from the show to the University of Texas and can be viewed online today. 60Minutes on a whole descended somewhat into pablum

@clementinemonkey I know. Sad, isn't it?

I had to arrange the Biography (1961) theme from memory for my web site. I also did the David-Wolper tag which was heard at the very end. (Keywords: "Carl Moore Music" without the quote marks, then go to that site's TV Themes, then to "Biography 1961" page).

I used to Love this show when I was a little kid. Very nostalgic!!

Mike Wallace was a true hack. He infuses into his work (for decades) a morale glib. He offers nothing to the listener other than his own sickening morality. Wallace is vacuous, and does no real due diligence into his subjects, and he lacks of any originality.
I think John Barrymore is due for a new, updated documentary, don't you think?

@easlesonavon that would be nice but I don't think there'll be much of an audience interested nowadays.

No mention of his lovely first wife Katherine Corri Harris!

@stwads 20 mins to get through Jack Barrymore's life is bound to have omissions. What I find amusing is that his beloved monkey clementine gets a mention!
