@finch6789 Hahaha, our waters are fine. Sharks only come in when they're fed, and they don't come in where you'll be swimming, unless your two year old enjoys swimming in 50 foot deep waters.

stay north of Sharky's pier and you'll be find. Lifeguards are stationed through out.

who ever the girl is named katie, venice is FUCKING AMAZING!! you just dont appriciate what you have. i lived there for seven years and just moved and i would give anything to be living there again. all the kids who live there hate it, but it could be alot worse not living in a tourist attration trust me...IM IN RED NECK WEST VIRGINIA!

I love Venice Florida, and all of Sarasota county. It is a wonderful place and a safe place to raise a family. It is a piece of paradise, and there is no other place in Florida like it, and I can NOT wait to go back there, as my heart is there. I had to move my family to Seattle for 3 years and have waited with anticipation to get back to Florida. We will be there again in December of 2007. Thank GOD for Venice Florida.

nice pics. i can't believe there are such nasty comments for such a laid back video. anyway, i'm going here for vaca in feb - i see a lot of shark fishing in venice beach. i assume the water's not safe for swimming? anybody know? i don't want my two year old used as shark bait.

Not to worry.. well patrolled beaches (boat and aircraft...excellent life guard staff)... you'll have BIG FUN!
