@TheNapalmDude yes.

the oscars are so rigged.

I officially hate the Academy. I watched the Oscars live that year (I think it was the last time I did) and I will never, EVER forget the look on Peter O'Toole's face when they called out Forrest Whitaker's name. Now, there's no taking away from Forrest, who was really good - but nowhere in the same domain as Peter O'Toole. And even if O'Toole had SUCKED (and he was AMAZING) they should STILL have given him for those past many, many grievances ('Lawrence' and 'Lion' spring to mind). SHAME!

Yeah even though the Oscars has done shameful things but you can't not give it credibility. I feel so bad for him. For Lawrence of Arabia he was up against Gregory Peck from To Kill a Mockingbird. Alfred Hitchcock also never won an oscar and didn't give a shit about the life time achievement award =p

@JonathanBorgogelli (continuation of my last post) Anthony Hopkins is one of the few recovered alcoholic actors who has won an Oscar. When the Academy feels that the actor takes his profession seriously and isn't a hellraiser, then they give him/her an Oscar.
-
@JonathanBorgogelli The Academy has this bias against giving Oscars to actors who have been alcoholics. That's why John Barrymore never got one, although his brother Lionel and his sister Ethel did. And that's why Richard Burton never got one.
Albert Finney also has never won, because he has a reputation as a "hellraiser".

@Raweetawun No skill in "Lawrence of Arabia"? Are you nuts? What about that scene in which he comes back from the desert and orders a drink for his aide? He's practically on the verge of a breakdown in that scene, not to mention the scene in which he gets raped by the Turkish Bey.
-
Well, they did give him a special Oscar for all his movies. To me a special one would be better than none at all.

OMFG THAT SONG!!! so ironic, i just started listing to that the other day!!! the one when he is in the limo. wtf ironic man. really really really ironic haha (:
The academy did more or less the same with Richard Burton nominated just seven times but did not recieve one. An outright injustice to both actors!
