Stereotypes are, even if they are not true, what makes a big part of a countrys identity in the other countrys, because they are the caricature of the slight differences between them. Germans might not be always drinking beer, but we drink more beer than others, you know?
Poland kicked your asses. (Teutonic Knights) History always looks at WW2 and how Poland fought against the Nazi's, but nothing else. Poland stopped the spread of Islam at the Battle of Vienna, and stopped Communism from invading Europe by defeating the Red Army at the Wisla River in 1921. I could go on and on...Napoleon never took over Moscow, but Poland DID.
