  • So where is this in production now?

  • @hangerbird, once the legal negotiations between AGF and Paramount are resolved, the production will continue.

  • Oh HEY now! Definitely looking forward to seeing this!! (Ummm... does the video completely freeze up at 0:32 for anyone else?)

  • @PrfMoriarty, Love your work. Perhaps you might agree to an interview for my film. Your perspective would be a welcomed addition.

  • This episode is so good that I think it is one of the few that would make an EXCELLENT movie version!

  • Interestingly, "The Doomsday Machine" was on Harve Bennett's short list of original episodes to do a movie follow up for for Star Trek II. He obviously wound up choosing "Space Seed" and "The Wrath of Khan" was born. But it would have made for a great subject matter for a Trek movie, as you say. The Norman Spinrad interview will certainly be of interest to you, in this film.

  • @DKetch1966 A Star Trek:TNG novel was released that used that plot. Unfortunaly, I can't recall it's title.

  • Best Star Trek episode ever!

  • Definitely! I think it would have been even more important to the Trek saga and continuity with pulling together TOS with TNG had they built a plot of the Doomsday Machine and the Borg in what Kirk describes as, "they used in a war uncounted years ago.." The perfect premise of that war occuring between another race and the Borg to which the DDM was on it way to destroy when it encountered the Enterprise. Had Ent not destroyed the DDM, it would have detroyed the Borg. I read in book somewhere.

  • ha - 0:32 to 0:37 - perfect.
