This year, we're asking Kiwis to help raise $3.15 million in the 40 Hour Famine to feed thousands of hungry children and families around the world. It's a big goal, but together we can do it.
The challenge
Our target is to raise a whopping $3.15 million.
The cause
Almost a billion people in the world are hungry. This year, we have a specific focus on East Timor, one of New Zealand's closest neighbours in the Asia-Pacific region. Half of all young children over there are malnourished.

  • 22 hours into my famine (food). I'm using a computer to type this, on my bed, and even with all these other comforts the absence of food alone really gives me some perspective. Raised 40 dollars, now I'm wishing I raised more.
