@NoiteraD that's not really true. boiling water to create kinetic energy has a slightly higher thermal efficiency than internal combustion (about 30% versus 25%, I think) plus burning the fuel at ambient is much cleaner than burning it under compression, it produces less of a particular type of pollutant and it burns more completely than it would in an internal combustion engine. When you really boil it down, no pun intended, the modern gas engine is inherently inefficient.

I have seen compressed air powered cars that are being experimented with now, the function like steam cars, but with out boilers and fuels.

@boltjet135 Sadly, they wont because theyre unefficient, because you first have to use power to make steam, so in the end you dont really save any energy, but still, there should be modern steam cars out there, they would still be awesome as a fun car.

@pennyf9 it's strang how at the start of the 20th centurary, electric, steam and internal combustion were all viable options, weird to think electric coming back, dubt these old beuties will replace the electronic crap
