This is my quick review of the LG Optimus T. This is focused on the performance of the phone after rooting, installing a custom ROM from the XDA developers forum called "Megatron", and overclocking to 806 mhz. Overall i'm very impressed with the phone and I think it's the best value for Wind Mobile and Mobilicity customers in Canada. Visit www.tablet-crunch.blogspot.com for more tablet news and rumours, a Wind Mobile phone buying guide, and a full guide for how to root, install custom ROMs, and overlock as I have done here.

To clarify one thing from this video. The LG Optimus T (P509) is for T-mobile / Wind Mobile / Mobilicity, and the LG Optimus One is for other carriers. I say in the video they are same, which is true because they are identical phones that can use the same ROMs and everything, but they do use different radio frequencies and so the LG Optimus One is NOT compatible with T-mobile / Wind Mobile / Mobilicity.

EDIT - Here is a link to my video tutorial on how to root, install recovery, and install roms

  • wont this shit on ur battery life.

  • @the2eyedcyclops I haven't noticed a difference, as I can get a full day (10-14 hours) with moderate to heavy use no problem (which is what you expect from an android phone at BEST). I had an HTC magic and I could barely pull 8 hours of up-time and that was with NO gaming. On this phone I can play games for a couple of hours throughout the day no problem.

  • Dude Optimus prime and Megatron can't work together. They are fighting every time they meet each other. ;)

  • @achiva111 Yes, LG Optimus One and Optimus T are the same...

  • I was wondering i typed in the code for the recovery and when it rebooted it wiped my phone clean. I also turned it off and on and it still factory resets my phone to system settings. I press the volume down and home button when initially turning it on but it still just factory resets my phone. What am i doing wrong?
