This was Redd Foxx's last appearance. When "The Royal Family" later re-aired with new episodes (featuring Jackee with Della Reese) after Redd's fatal death (ironically from a heart attack) the show wasn't the same, and thankfully was cancelled shortly thereafter. It was great to see Mr. Foxx on TV again. I remember seeing only one episode back in 1991.
i remember this show! i remember da last episode too! i was so sad! cuz after da episode the cast members showed clips of redd foxx and they played louie armstrong's what a wonderful world! it used to come on cbs!
Yeah..."The Royal Family." It's too bad about this one...I think it really had a good chance to make it into the mid-90's. But obviously, after Redd passed, it was a done deal! Even I stopped watching after he died--and I was 8!!! But it was fun while he was on...you also got to peep a very young Larenz Tate (just before "Menace II Society"). Jackée also signed on eventually...who was quite hot back in the day, but too annoying. IMO, she was the extra BIG hole in this ship that helped sink it.
wow I remember seeing this commercial and show as a child around 91 I'd say. Mr. Foxx was only in like 5 or 6 episodes probably until he died.
In married with children , Al makes a comment about Redd Foxx when he is talking about the government auditing him. something like "take redd foxx, who amases a small fortune, they drive him to royal family, and you know it wasn't going to be long before he died" something like that
aww its Naya Rivera saying "That's my grandpa!" awwwww :)

@Blackjesus3 Yeah, and sadly, Redd Foxx only lasted 7 episodes. on 10/11/1991, he suffered a fatal heart attack.
