Review of the Roku Digital Video Player

Can you Take the roku from one tv to the other. Say like i want to watched movies in the livingroom but then later in my bedroom. Does it do that o must I have to buy another roku for a deferent tv.??? Im trying to dicide between a roku or blueray player any feed bck would help...thanks

@martinstar805 Yes, you can unplug the Roku box and plug it into any TV you want.... I've taken my Roku unit over to my parents and in-laws houses to watch movies over there. I've also taken the Roku with me on vacation previously and watched movies in the hotel room. The Netflix account is linked to the actual box itself and not any particular television. As long as you can connect to the internet through an ethernet cable or wirelessly then you're good to go.

@martinstar805 Sorry, I think I read your question wrong. Yes you need 1 Roku box for every television set you want to watch it on. Like I said previously though, you can unplug the Roku from one TV and plug it into another TV very easily. The box is extremely small and takes less than 30 seconds to hook it up.

Just wondering you said something about copying them. If you could watch it anytime you wanted why bother ?

Netflix cycles movies and TV shows on and off the network constantly. Certain movies in your queue will be removed from "Instant Watch" to make room for newer movies that they want to add. Sometimes those movies are added back on at a later date, sometimes not. That would be the only reason you'd really want to. I still haven't tried to do it though.

Let me see if I got this right, You have to have a internet connection..

You can run it off a router.

I would have to buy the box.

And sine up for the netflix and thats $10 month.

Is that all ?

do you have any problems ?

And does netflix provide more movies ?

I am paying $70 a month for dish network

I can not afford it anymore.

You have to have a high speed internet connection...The box allows for both wired and wireless connections through your router...Yes you have to buy the box from Roku, or if you have a Playstation 3 or XBox 360 you can watch Netflix as well...The cheapest Netflix account is $8.99 per month and allows unlimited streaming...I haven't had any problems with it...Netflix has a distribution deal with Starz and are always adding more stuff every month...Hope this answers some of your questions.

I can stream Netflix on my PC which is hooked up to my 47" inch LCD tv.

The overall quality is very good to excellent. I'm also able to stream many HD titles.

Is there any benefit to using the Roku box as opposed to my PC??

I stopped paying for cable and joined netflix, I get to watch the same movies from the Starz channel right on the site, (the site has a Starz channel)

Why pay 70-80 a month when you can watch movies for 8.99 and get a dvd of the ones that haven't been put to stream yet
