Cover of Genesis Intro in their last Tour "Turn It On Again 2007". Played with my brand new Roland TD9 Vdrums.
It`s my first video up on YouTube.
Done just for my family and friends enjoyment, but finally I thought: "Everyone can see it, so...nevermind", and here it is.
Done with the hopes of someone who is 44 old now, and began drumming a year ago. Not practising every day, so don`t be very cruel with your comments..., if any (I hope so).
In some parts you will note that my toms don`t sound very clear. That`s because I couldn`t find a better balance in mixing the original track with my kit, and otherwise they sounded too hard and less clear, so sorry for that.
Hope you like it, although it has some mistakes (Mmmm..., lots of them, I should say), specially those fans of Genesis (lots of them out there, I know).
So there. Enjoy It.

  • do you have a double bss pedal or do you use the td9s hi hat pedal?

  • I have a single bass pedal. I do not use the hi-hat pedal as a bass pedal. It´s a kind of bass drum technique called "heel-toe" technique or something like that for double kick.

  • duke...no way in the world you've been playing only a year and are playing THIS WELL!!!!! I'd love to hear what you sound like five years down the road. Chester Thompson is hard to copy and you're making it look so easy!!! drummer hear for 25 years.

  • Thanks for your comment. I promise...1 year when I played this song, but now after a year and a half, I feel somehow a bit stuck in my progress. I don´t have much time for playing.

    I´ll keep trying.

    Thanks again.

  • great job man one question though. Im looking to get this drum set once i have enough money from christmas , if i wanted to buy 2 pd-120 or 125 pads and make them two floor toms instead of where you have added the extra pad, would it fit?

  • I´m afraid the rack is not big enough to fit 5 toms. If you find the way to put the 5´th pad, you can assign them the sounds that you like.

  • Brilliant!!

  • Very Great !

  • great drumming and the drum sound is PERFECT for this track :)

  • Very good Work!

  • Nice one wish I could afford to have a set of drums and play like that, I love Genesis and there always on in my car. Look forward to watch more

  • Superb. I've been a Genesis fan for 30 years, and you sound like you've been one of the band for a long time. Did you teach yourself to drum? Keep up the good work, my friend.

  • Great Playing!! Love your kit!!
