@daregularperson Absolutely, Hendrix obviously took great inspiration from this one for parts of 'Merman'. Still, Jimi's instrumentation over the top of the chord progression was unique and great. I love the middle 8 on this 'Mothers' song.

I agree with dareqularperson about the Hendrix reference. Jimi was listening to this

No wasted notes, no wasted words - 2 minutes and 16 seconds of genius, eh?

@TeeteeSL they don't, their just amazing bands, especially animals as leaders, chimp spanner, uneven structure, keith merrow....if you want avant garde then you would like tub ring, dog fashion disco, polkadot cadaver, and el creepo(Todd Smith has a band called knives out! also, they're ok, but it's mainly metal)
-
@TeeteeSL also you might like of montreal, they have the coolest bass lines ever....but if you want crazy music then listen to nuclear rabbit, and especially sikth!!!(their guitarist is in a new band called aliases)

better version on Ruben & Jets

The vocals on this track ( especially the harmonies around 1:30) are absolutely freakin fantastic. I LOVE this song . . . Zappa was a freakin' genius.
I realized that Zappa was a genius when I played "Hungry Freaks Daddy" for my mother, and she was repulsed, and I played this, and she melted.
