Holiday Light Show Tour of Santa Clarita, California 2008

Highlights of a brief tour of Santa Clarita, Dec. 2008, in search of elaborate and unusual holiday displays. Some people really do it up big every year for local competitions (many blown circuit breakers!) while others make simple but effective use of colors and patterns.

Are there any streets in Valencia or SCV or Newhall nick named Christmas Tree Lane specifically or is it a common nick name because of the Season? Shaamex1 Thanks foe the video!

I don't know of any place that's specifically called that, and the term is probably used generally as a nick-name, like you said, along with lots of others. There are quite a few streets in the SCV with street-wide multiple lightshows, and it's possible that there are specific names for specific locations, but those names would likely be very localized and not generally known to everyone. It might be worth a google search of the name and area though, just to make sure! :-)

This little tour covered a wide area of the SCV and these cool displays all from over the place. I found good concentrations of houses with lightshows in Newhall, just north of Lyons Ave around Wiley Canyon Rd. and a few spots in Valencia, but I'm sure there were many others. Grab some munchies, hop in the car and spend the evening driving around like the ice cream man - you'll find plenty!. Also watch "The Signal" (newspaper and online) for light show competitions. :-)
