@pugz74 DONT BE AN IDIOT!

you need a fuel filter the motor is fine and check your fuel injectors i have the same problem with mine it turns on & back fires then shuts off, and it wont hold a charge but the altornator is good.your fuel sending pump voltage regulator is broken so you need a new fuel pump.change the oil and check your hoses.do a tune up and your good to go.it should cost you around a 1000 dollars but less if you do work yourself like 500 bucks.

my truck made tha same noise and it turned i had a hole in my header

sounds like a exhaust leak. Use a rubber hose and hear through it around the exhaust and it will sound through the hose and you will find ur problem

i have a 95 chevy with 350 5.7L with 243000 miles an it made the same ticking noise an it was one of my rollers
-
if you have not figured this out yet it is an exhaust manifold leak. replace the gaskets and you are golden.

@xboxisbeast101 We have one of those. Works just as well as the truck you see here. Its not like buying a ford is going to magically fix all my problems. It will break sooner or later, just like every other vehicle.

Deff, Exhaust leak, If It was a rod knock, the engine would make a noticeable knock even at idle. Also to be on the safe side with it having high miles, I would recommend you check your oil levels every week at keep at least a quart in the truck at all times.{esp pulling loads}

@watso64
Surprisingly it doesn't burn any oil for all those miles. This motor gets run very hard pulling loads or just having fun and I have never noticed a problem. I believe most of that's just from taking good care of it, like using WIK over sized oil filters, and royal purple oil, frequent tune ups, etc. I did get it fixed though (was an exhaust gasket leak).
