I decided to use Pharos Silk Henna to cover the gray in my locs! I dyed my dreadlocks black with this natural, pure henna. I did this while living in South Korea. Read more about my life in South Korea at www.korea-diva.com.

  • This is great!! I was afraid that henna would turn my hair red. I am definitely going to try this! Thanks so much for the info :D

  • @lexii314 It may turn your hair red!!! I used a boxed version that said that it was "black". My hair was black as you can see after using the product. I later found out that pure henna will turn your hair reddish-orange. I didn't like it.

  • Is henna a permanent hair dye?

  • @MsTAYSHAUN Yes.. It is permanent, but it will grow out over time.

  • This is not a natural henna, henna has only one color. What you have is a chemical dye mixed with a bit of henna. The 'real or pure henna without hair color, color your hair orange or red naturally. This henna you used in the video creates a high risk to skin cancer and permanent scars.

  • Thank you for information. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace. I love your locks.

  • @lexii314 you should go to mehandi.com for information on PURE henna. The boxes that claim to give you black, brown and other colors are not real henna. Please be careful before you proceed. Some of the companies are adding additional (harmful ingredients).

  • Yes, vaseline is actually better in order to keep the henna at bay.

  • your locs are absolutely gorgeous.

  • looks like the pharos silk henna has indigo..? or are your roots reddish? looks like its very dark :) beautiful work!

  • Hello I am sorry to hear about your allergic reaction, did your henna have PPD in it and Peroxide? I have heard some very negative things about these chemicals, We should be using pure Henna with nothing other than Indigo to dye our hair. I use a product from the health shop called by Herbique called simply Henna (Black) the only ingredients are Henna and Indigo ready mixed, I live in Sweden so i hope you can find it in the USA.

    Peace!
