Japanese company Takata is a pioneer when it comes to steering wheels, safety belts and airbags. It supplies most of the major car manufacturers. The company is 75 years old and operates over 40 factories in 16 countries.

Takata also has a presence in Germany, where it has merged with the company Petri. It's a promising partnership given that Takata made the first safety belts back in the 1960s, while Petri developed the first airbag together with Daimler. Takata's European headquarters are in Aschaffenburg, but the business is planning to stay ahead of the game by opening a new research and development center in Berlin. Our reporter Mabel Gundlach set out to find out more.

  • @TechCrazy true about germany but how can you expect engineering growth when it was split in two and all its top scientist went up like a draft pick for the NFL, however dont count usa out so fast.

  • @TechCrazy first internal combustion car was made by french, first steam powered car was actually a toy made in china around 1650 for the emperor

  • very good demonstration

may o ppm all the time

  • @TechCrazy Read my comment again, i said the " JET" not the jet engine besides that british engine you're talking about was absoulutely too heavy for it to even be considerd fly-able in comparison to Junker's and Messerschmitt's. The first opperational jet fighter being the Messerschmitt 262 with swept wings and even guided misscles.........

  • @Howie262 Sorry the jet engine was invented by the British ! The first car might actually be from USA though it wasnt practical.

After 1960, everything came from Japan. German engineering went into a stagnation period including USA.

  • @6489532ab: Better than idiots draping a flag and drinking beer?

  • The japanese are mindless automatons.

  • @GullinborstiHoch100 Mein Siemens Handy ist 9 Jahre alt und läuft heute noch.

  • @Howie262

no you didn't make them. The certain professional individuals from your country made them.

  • @Howie262

Gott sei Dank ist die Playstation ein japanisches Produkt, denn in Sachen Elektronik haben die Deutschen ja garnichts drauf :o meine beschissene deutsche Stereoanlage war ja schon nach 2 wochen kaputt -_-
