"Feel Like I'm Fixing To Die"

Come on all of you big strong men
Uncle Sam needs your help again
he's got himself in a terrible jam
way down yonder in Viet Nam so
put down your books and pick up a gun we're
gonna have a whole lotta fun

And it's one, two, three, what are we fighting for
don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Viet Nam
And it's five, six, seven, open up the pearly gates
ain't no time to wonder why, whoopee we're all gonna die

Come on wall street don't be slow
why man this war is a go-go
there's plenty good money to be made by
supplying the army with the tools of its trade
let's hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
they drop it on the Viet Cong

Come on generals, let's move fast
your big chance has come at last
now you can go out and get those reds
cos the only good commie is the one that's dead and
you know that peace can only be won when we've
blown 'em all to kingdom come

Come on mothers throughout the land
pack your boys off to Viet Nam
come on fathers don't hesitate
send your sons off before it's too late
and you can be the first ones on your block
to have your boy come home in a box

You don't know if someone can be reintegrated into society until you try. No-one, including the state, has the right to take another's life... even if the crime was murder.

It is something you want to be in otherwise you wouldn't be in it... the US needs war for it's military obsessed economy.

The gun issue isn't just about two political parties. Change cannot happen unless the people want it... and most people in the US want to keep guns because of their obsession for 'protecting yourself'.

We reserve the death penalty for those who aren't ever going to be able to be reintegrated into society. And I will admit that we shouldn't be in so many wars, but the Iraqi war isn't something we want to be in. Most of us still resent Bush for involving us in that. And the gun issue--again, one of the political parties wants more gun control, and the opposing political party will continue to disagree with them, no matter what happens. Try researching this stuff.

The death penalty is execution, and you seem to spend plenty of money killing people in war... so whats the problem with saving a few of your own people by not killing them. Read the part about guns again.

You could use the same argument to say that as long as there are people in the world there will be violence. The reasoning behind our current restrictions is that people won't be stupid enough to go shoot others. Unfortunately, there are people stupid enough to decide that they have the right to choose who lives and who dies. And may I suggest that you research what you're talking about before making claims? Just a friendly suggestion.

Our country isn't full of hate.Just because a few of the Powers that Be are freaking out doesn't mean that everyone is,and unfortunately a lot of that paranoia stems from 9/11,which is still a pretty sensitive topic here. And I think you're talking about the death penalty, and I don't think that if someone went and massacred however many people that anyone would want to spend money on that person. And one political party wants gun control, and the other will fight the opposition to the "death".

Seems Syria would be next. Sadly, there's no shortage of names, however.
