For this week's video of the week, I decided to find out how "cinematic" BJJ really is. This martial art is not shown in most action films. So, my older brother and I filmed for two days. We experimented with camera angles (including the window reflection angle that I had to turn green because it came out too dark), choreography, no choreography, high shutter speed, low shutter speed, sound effects, natural sound, just music, short takes, and long takes (towards the end). We tried to keep the movements basic and our fight as close to the ground as possible. Also, we are obviously not BJJ black belts and haven't set foot in a dojo in a very long time (I had only one formal lesson in my entire life- over a year ago)! Don't judge this too harshly - it's just a test. Next week I will put up a video about the "Ideal Flow" in Parkour. I will keep doing a-video-a-week until the end of the semester -it's my college assignment.
