  • Excellent video! Pretty clean set up too. About how much do DMM's go for?

  • @Roscoe100486 20 bucks honestly...i mean they make 200$ models but for this application it isnt nessacary.

  • what about companies who give you rated power at 14.5v vs real world 12.5v? would that change anything or no?

  • @uselesstheory theres nothing wrong with giving 14.5v the fact that people run 12.5 is due to small electrical but yes. if your running 12.5 you need to factor that in the equation not 14.5

  • So I played a 60 hz tone and the voltage was lower than the 30 hz tone. Is this Normal? And do you know what frequency produces the highest voltage? (so I can get the best possible tuning without distortion)

  • @bdog99049 yes 60hz die to it taking the most power from your amplifier

  • You must used a 60 or 50 hz tone. Cheap meters are calibrated to this frequency, because they are used by domestic electricity supples.

  • @ihaveabutt so def a good idea to clamp test the amp to get the actual power at your average voltage before setting gains sounds like. i kept watching vids on gains and nobody has pointed this out haha. thanks man

  • Hey Guy WHere'd U Get THe Chart From Thats On The Computer Screen id like to use it later when i do my new set up.

  • You have to also make sure you turn all of your "Bass Boosts, Treble, Bass, Crossovers" Off before doing this. My 500watt Alpine @ 2 ohms was 31.6 AC Volts. bcae1.net has a Wire section, of you list the amp you have and the load it will give you the voltage at the amp. That's what I used to get the 31.6v. Hope this comes in handy for other people. Thank you again for putting this video on. I did this a few months ago, I was going to buy a Meade Meter, but now I don' tneed to.

  • What is the difference between doing 50hz/60hz/whatever?

  • @ihaveabutt oh okay. maybe my low pass is lower than I thought or something...
