Why is it that evangelical pastors never talk about the environment from their pulpit? Tri Robinson, pastor of Vineyard Boise, tells the story of why he changed his mind about environmentalism.

I certainly agree, however there is a spirit of pagan earth worship involved in much of this activity which entirely excludes God even from consideration.

If I hear "mother earth" one more time I am going to vomit.

  • @FillTheirVoid Just because its destined to be "ruined" does not mean not to at least try to keep it good. If not for our sake, but for our children. Caring for the Earth also does not conflict with preaching the Gospel..multi tasking is not a problem for most humans.

  • @DeadProphetsFate

The biblical terminology of "defiling the land" undeniably refers to the iniquities of it's inhabitants ... not the destruction or exploitation of natural resources.

Caring for God's creation is one thing, being obsessively preoccupied with it to the exclusion of God is another.

Christians shouldn't be primarily concerned with this earth which is inexorably destined for ruin, but rather the faithful preaching of the Gospel.

  • @FillTheirVoid I agree with your last statement.. All im stating is that we should care for the Earth..didnt say anything about tree worship..just not to defile the land....using what the land provides is not the definiton of defilement of the land...

  • @DeadProphetsFate I just clearly and undeniably demonstrated to you how the bible employs this term. It is meant to denote defilement of the land due to the inhabitants iniquities.

Not the cutting down of the precious trees which God gave to them for their own use *weeps*.

I'm not stating that we shouldn't care for God's creation in a responsible manner, but this pagan earth worship is unbiblical nonsense.

  • @FillTheirVoid No, you're just not seeing whats in front of your face.

  • @DeadProphetsFate

You are ignorant of biblical terminology and language ...

Leviticus 18:24 (after listing many vile sins) Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: and the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

"and the land is defiled" the defilement is the result of their despicable iniquities ... not because they cut down trees.

  • @FillTheirVoid it blatantly states "defiled My land" if it was dealing with conduct of ones character, LAND being defiled would not have been said.

  • @DeadProphetsFate

That is speaking of their moral conduct.

  • @FillTheirVoid Jeremiah 2:7 "I brought you into a bountiful country, To eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you DEFILED My land and made My heritage an abomination."
