I always loved Artyom's voice actor. He lends such a perfect tone of sadness and burden to the character. That said, I usually play with the russian voices turned on...

If you complain about it being dark, the ammo being scarce and the annoying noises in the game then the game is doing it's work. It's meant to be annoying to live in a post apocylyptic world with shit all to work with and things both animal and human trying to kill you
