What is Engbrew?

Meet Zack Weisfeld.
He is an Israeli.
He is Vice President of Marketing at Modu.
His mother tongue is Hebrew.

Unfortunately, like many Israelis he lost the ability to speak Hebrew.
He can only speak Engbrew.

Engbrew comes from an infatuation with the English language. Among its features is the unnecessary usage of English words while speaking Hebrew.

Can you count the number of English words Zack unnecessarily uses within 13 seconds?

  • you are just stupid, all over the world peaple use the english as secend langauge, as a result they express a technology words in english.

otherwise israel is one of the best advanced countries in the world, so do you're self a favor and shut up!

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • 1. People sometimes call it Hebrish or Heblish - but I like Engbrew much better.

    2. The video is about Israelis but not exclusively for Israelis and that is why it was made in English. When you want to make people feel included, you try to use a language they understand. For the same reason we are having this discussion in English and not in Hebrew.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • you forgot"sms"

  • Well... I did not forget SMS, I just let it slide. There are Hebrew alternatives but since most people use this term, I would not consider that an unnecessary usage of the English language.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I have a couple of opinions about this. I think that Hebrew is less of a Jewish language than English, and especially Yiddish. All Romantic languages flowered out of Christianity or Jews, and Hebrew predates Judaism, its roots come from wicked pagan cultures which rabbis disdain even though they say that Hebrew is the holy language, the language of God.

  • very very very very nice!!!!!!!!!!!

it is exsist in israel (wich i live in) its very funny to hear it and see it that way...

מי שהעלה את הוידיאו מדבר עברית במקרה????

    אם כן תגיב!!!!!!!

  • oh and if you are targeting israelis to use hebrew, why is this video in english?

  • Yes I agree its becoming a problem. a major problem. English is taking over. theres no need to say charger or clock dock. even sms is now a hebrew verb (mesames) but it sits nicely with misron (being the actual sms message). But isnt it called hebrish and not engbrew?
