Ok... I'll give you that the shooter on his first shot probably isn't usually his best. But a cold gun is a different gun from one with rounds through it. The tightness of high-precision guns means the slightest thermal expansion tightens the tolerances by magnitudes. Every rifle I've benched (mechanically) shows a POI change from cold to hot, usually 1 to 3 shots, depending on speed of fire, tolerances, action. etc. This is a FACT that thermal expansion changes POI.

looks like 39 people didnt hit the target

do you shoot with a bipod or what do you use?

@diderr01 i use jbm its excellent made me able to shoot a 12by12 gong at 550 yards zeroed at 100 with a .17hmr. Took a few shots because of high effect of wind on the small cal. but very close every time.

drop is 1/2gt^2
g is acceleration due to gravity(9.8 m/s)
and t is time(distance/speed of projectile)
this however gets rough at long ranges because there can be lift and there is drag, if you can you can factor that in but its much more complex

Long Range is cool at the range. Might be the doom of hunting as we know it though.

@OnlineFlyFishinGuide
I rarely ever use this gun hunting, but I have taken a few animals with it. I have a 45/70 sharps for hunting.

@slayer19966
I use Exbal on a PPC
or JBM ballistics online.
both are very accurate if you give them the right info.

Bullet drop- 55.2MOA or 66 feet
does this means you have to aim 66 feet above the target?
spamllpitdept 2 years ago
essential yes. I dial the drop into my scope, and aim dead center on the target.
