Great video, thanks David. I've never really run more than a few miles at a time, and now that I started training for an Ironman, I'm running longer distances and my calves are starting to hurt while running, and the next day. I think it's because my calves simply aren't used to this much work. I hope it's that simple. I am also a forefoot runner, so I believe that that puts more stress on my calves. I'd imagine that you'd need to see my gait, but any other advice? I'll try to post a video

Thanks for the video. I bought a foam roller a few months ago, but I've found it painful to use. I've had chronic calf problems in both legs, and my doctor finally seems to be taking me seriously. He recently ordered a battery of blood tests. Pain occurs while running, is usually cramplike, and lasts for 3-4 days. Other symptoms include chronic fullness, burning, tingling, and aching of my calves, especially when sitting.
new to running, calves have been really tight lately, and had only ever used a foam roller with my back.
I'm looking forward to rolling out my calves today!
