I have the same problem with my HP tm2. I'm having it exchanged for a new one.

I have the same problem on my W500 with an external screen attached through a Dock....

thats starge i am able to, swhich between the grapic cards on my t500, with an external display. Have you tried software update in the thinkvantage menu?
