Epiphone since 2008 have been makeing there own version of the 57 Classic and Classic Plus pickups and makeing there own electronics useing the very best materials. Most of you make comments with out doing any kind of research. I suggest you start.

Part-2 than the luthiers at Gibson. And its because of ex Gibson Master luthier michael voltz who was Gibsons top luthier for 18 years befor moving to Epiphone China in 2001. Epiphone China's factory is state of the art. And opened in 2002.

No not defensive. Just tired of Gibson fan boys bashing a guitar company thats responsible for the invention of the very first electric guitar in 1930 and many other inventions that involves the electric guitar. The chinese are just as good even better

Dude you seem pretty defensive about the whole Epiphone/Gibson thing.
You can't really convince anyone either way. My $800 Gibson sounds better than any Epiphone I have heard (And I have heard and played dozens and dozens).
Epiphone does make high quality equipment, but to say that they are far better than Gibson and that Gibson's quality is in the shitter is just ignorant and you make yourself look misinformed. It's personal preference not name brand that matters.

My brother and I got the same Studio 50's and they are pretty much identical. I have seen a few bad ones though. Luckily here in Vancouver we have some wicked Luthiers.
I love my Les Paul to pieces, but out of my four electrics, the Tele and the Studio are the ones I pick up most often.

Trust me man, my buddy's dad works for Epiphone and he has nearly every single kind as a collector. After playing them, there are definitely a few that sound amazing, but none feel like Gibsons, old or new.

The Elctronics in Epiphones are now Epiphone made and are all metal from switch's to pots. The pots are full 1 inch 500k. Epiphone are most certainly top professional quality. And its because of Ex Gibson master luthier michael Voltzs who's with Epiphone.

@OnyxWolf17 They are such different guitars. But Tele's are indestructible. It's simplicity is part of it's charm. I notice that Fender's come through very consistent, they all feel very similar. Gibson seems to be all over the place. Then put much more hand labor into their guitars than many other companies do. I always suggest a nice used Les Paul. Many times the best playing LP in a shop is the studio, just doesn't make sense sometimes. I have a warm spot for Tele's too

Great vid, but they left out the part where Gibson adds the $1000 markup at retail.
