Good Will To Men remake obrazu Pokój na ziemi z 1939 roku. Tym razem za realizację odpowiedzialna jest ekipa Hanna Williama i Josepha Barbera, która w 1955 roku tworzy swoją wersję ponurej historii ludzkości. Tym razem jednak, opowieść wysłuchuje grupa myszy, a zagłada gatunku dokonuje się za pomocą nuklearnego holokaustu.
A group of young mice is in the ruins of a church, practicing singing for an upcoming service. After singing an adulterated version of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," the mice wonder about the last line, "Good will to men." One of them asks the chorus master, an old mouse, "What are men?" The old mouse explains that they all killed each other off by building bigger and more destructive weapons, first guns, then missiles, then bombs.

@moogyboy6 I'm actually surprised that H&B didn't get dragged before the HUAC for promoting pacifism; in the '50s I imagine anyone critical of America's military might would've been branded a Communist sympathizer.

@BlackTemplar43 Compared to the general state of MGM's cartoons during the CinemaScope era, this really is epic--only three years before Huckleberry Hound, Hanna & Barbera's last brush with Disney-level animation proved that they hadn't lost their touch. Even now those delta-wing bombers and missiles are chilling. The only thing missing, as Michael Barrier pointed out about "Peace On Earth", are civilian casualties. That would have really socked it home.

This and "Peace On Earth" are both still timely cartoons. I find them both very touching. Thanks for posting.
