The farm in Watercress Lane, Mattishall is run by Burwell Hatchery a family run business started in 1982. Over the years we have successfully developed a wide range of outlets for the farms products.

We are now pleased to introduce the Watercress Lane Duck Egg.

The family is proud to have achieved certification from Freedom Foods for the hatchery; acknowledging our resolve to improve welfare standards, specified and monitored by the RSPCA.

As yet, similar standards are not applicable to the production of the duck eggs but the same principles are evident throughout the farm: care and commitment to produce the best quality possible - our customers deserve it.

  • @rancher21 There are people in the trade know as 'sexers'. We have one come in and sex our day old ducklings. This is not an easy thing to do at that age but these people are trained for such a task.

  • Dear HoodaThuket. We would like to assure you that the video shown here IS a true reflection of how our farm is maintained and run. We understand that sadly the common practice is that what you see on a publicity bases is not always what you infact get, though Watercress Lane Duck Eggs are different in every way, and What You See Here is infact exactly how it is!! A happy and content Duck will produce a delicious and perfect egg.....continued.........

  • @watercresslane

Why would even waste your time responding to morans. you must not be so sensetive. What do they know of Duck farming. . Your stock look great . I can see. You know that too . Who cares about Gran- pa. He must have the brainer to think for himself. The reason he does not trust no one is another story and he needs to get proffessional help. Best wishes and keep up the good work.

  • i am in no way saying this company is lying. i only want to caution you. believe only half of what you see and NOTHING of what you hear. wise words from my grandfather. after all, fast food commercials don't show thier dirtier restraunts in their commercials and when have you ever gotten a burger that looks the way it looks on tv? kudos to Watercress if indeed they are this kind to thier animals, it would be a first.

  • I wonder how these eggs taste compared to the chicken eggs i buy here in Australia.
