Does your PS3 Disk Spin??

When I press the eject button my disk spins out instead of just coming out like the wii, my cousins ps3 on the other hand dosnt spin out??? we both have the 40GB model?? Does your spin out???

Well From all the comments so far I think ive come to a conclusion..

The New Models of the 40GB PS3 Spin.. And this also means that those PS3's Will last longer than the none spinning PS3's because that helps your Blue Ray Drive!! Hope This Vid helped Guyz!! Because you helped me :)

Wen i insert or eject a disc the sisx doesnt just go straight in, it spins in and spins out , but it it doesnt keep spinning, only the once is that normal?? Any help, i would really appreciate it alot :)

Somethings a little wrong, it should be an easy fix if you know what you are doing.

Dont jam it in there, or you may permanently break the drive, have you tried any music cd's? See if that works.

Blu Rays are a little thicker you see.

How many months has it been before you bought it?

If its been less than 12 months, you can get it exchanged because of the warranty.

Theres nothing else you can do?

If your warranty has finished, sony repair it for money. £100 UK, and $150 USA.

@gamez101 thanks, i was told by someone that on newer models such as 80G are ment to spin in. although my kilzone disc can get stuck at times im not sure if thats because its a 3D game and might be thicker??

@islandstyles09 i've worked with ps3s for about 6 years now and i pretty much know all about them okay back to your problem it happens to pretty much everybody including me. whats really happening is the blue ray disc reader aka eye has clogged or simply burnt out. i would alwas keep a spare around just in case. HOW TO FIX: The eye usually 40 TO 60 DEPENDING ON WITCH MODEL YOU HAVE. SO IN OUR CASE YOU WOULD BUY THE 400AAC eye replacement . if you still cant get it working just email

~£££.... it seems every one wnats you to buy something. i suggest just giving a clean, all though before you do this i would suggest trying a C.D in your drive chances are it should read... if it works this means its your blu ray lens... and if and when it work,s if you let the C.D spin for abit, like a good 5 minutes... just leave it playing make a cup of tea.. or something .. then take it out stick your ps3 game in =)~

I have a 40g ps3. I've had it 4 nearly 3years now ..and as of 2weeks ago, the disc isnt spinning or bein read (but the blue light turns on when game is inserted) Everything else is gud. I can play demos and stuff. I've tried the recovery menu but that doesn't work ?? Anyone have any advise?? (B4 I Fuck This One Up LOL)
