Wonderful arrangement and beautifully sung by Judith.
Originally on the 1966 album 'Come The Day'
Written by Françoise Hardy & J.More

All over the world
people must meet and part
there's someone like me
feeling a pain in their heart

some may meet again
under that same bright star
if maybe some night
you come back from afar
who cares if tonight
I don't know where you are

are you thinking of me now
missing having me around
if you have forgotten me
my world will come tumbling down

all over the world
others are sad tonight
there's someone like me
watching the sun's fading light

all over the sky
there is the same warm glow
here under that star
I'm wanting you to know
wherever you are
that I still love you so

  • I can clearly remember watching the farewell concert ( when was it 68 or 69 ? ) in black & white, as they sang the last song, the carneval is over I noticed both my parent crying, I was about 11 years old at the time & didnt understand what it was all about, well both my parent have died recently & thanks to youtube I can now watch & listen to the Seekers & Judith's wonderfull vocals......now its my turn to cry

Count me as ONE more who couldn't agree with you more when you say her voice is 'like that of an angel!' She was and still is in a category all her own!! There is a haunting, yet sweet and innocent at the same time sound to all that she sings-- Which may be why she stays with us as we all get older. I am 51 myself (now in 2011) and will always love hearing her voice! She represents my childhood in a special way. Although I am glad I was born when I was, a bit earlier wlda bn btr!

  • Poignant and beautiful, surely one of the best pop vocal performances of all time.

  • judith durham i keep giving you all the superlatives and you still keep defeating me, i thought i'd heard the most beautiful voice in the world and then you sang this and now i know i have and guess what? IT STILL BELONGS TO YOU, XXX

  • If this song doesn't touch your heart and your soul, you may not have either one :0). Definitely one of the most beautiful, poignant songs ever written, and Judith truly has the voice of an angel.

  • @tomaroony Right on! Thank god we still have these great singers with us. Have you ever listened to Judy Collins? One of the greatest.

  • @johnnyjemimah

Yes, indeed. I've told my wife that this is the song I'd like played at my funeral. Hopefully, that's some time away, of course.

The last lines "Here under that star I'm wanting you to know wherever you are, that I still love you so", sums up exactly what I want to say to my family.

  • outstanding. purity in its simplist form.i hope they come to nottingham uk.
