@benjihavoc haha, Frankly i've seen that movie 20 times. Metallica was influenced by the Ramones, which helped start thrash, but in 1975, punk and metal were rivals, but in 1980, they formed thrash. I have the album We're All One Happy Family: A Tribute To The Ramones, which was metal covers of them. And yes, Metalheads mosh the kill eachother for the fun of it, and thanks again for telling me about Skanking, cause I never knew about it.

@rageagainstboxhead yeah I know punk and metal are related, slayer wouldn't exist without hardcore punk. if you want to see the roots of metal go find a copy of Metal: a headbangers journey, if you haven't already. Most of the mosh pits at the punk shows i play are way more aggressive then the metal shows I've seen, the difference is punks help each other back up most metalheads are just trying to hurt people.

@benjihavoc see just so you'll get it right next time. I'm a metalhead looking at the roots of metal, and incase if didn't know, metal and punk are related. I didn't know, cause indie bands "Mosh" and I didn't know what skanking was.

well, no one knew any lyrics and thay had alot of downtime btwn songs. we were hacky sackin and playin frizbee in the crowd, it was fuckin awesome
