Ej, If Squeeze tour this year, see them. I've seen them seven times, including in '07 and '08. The current line up of Chris, Glenn, Simon Hanson, Stephen Large, and John Bentley is as good as any.
I wouldve loved to have seen them a few years before i did, but i do admit that i think the tour that i saw them on was quite possibly their peak. It was a great time to see Squeeze live in concert. I'm glad i did. I also saw them open up for David Bowie at Giants' Stadium in 1987 for the Glass Spider Tour. Great all-around concert!
I saw them there too. It was a great concert and later I played this tune with Glenn at the Mercury Lounge in SoHo. I spoke to Kate from the B52s and she said that was one of her favorite venues. Like you said they were at the top of their game. I believe this was the ArgyBargy tour. Their next album was East Side Story... one of their best. Anyway... love other Squeeze fans.
Squeeze were so friggin' good! I saw them at The Pier in NYC just a few short years later, i think it was in 1984. And wow were they amazing. At the top of their game. Their energy and musicianship is second to none. I adore these gents!
This was during the East Side Story tour. You can see Paul Carrack playing keyboards.
