The Orange Pumpkin, 747 is the plane my father in law flew....What a great airline, We still miss it......May 2012 Anniversary of 30years when they went bankrupt....So sad, Miss THE CLASS is had.....Dad flew for them for 32 years.
I remember that , as a boy interested in planes, the first airplane I ever saw leaving Amsterdam 'Schiphol' Airport for the far away United States (which I thought of as the country where everything was even better than with us) was a Braniff 747, with orange paint on it...
@godsentyes Actually, they ran out of money because they overextended themselves in a bad economy by introducing European and Asian routes which required that they buy more planes and hire more staff but they couldn't fill those planes with passengers. Flying has never been the same since. I miss BI!
Let me correct you Braniff ONE, the Braniff with the flying colors from 1965-1983, was called
BRANIFF INTERNATIONAL AIRWAYS.
I dont know what the other two Braniffs(mid 80's and early 90's were called.
.......and Braniff wouldn't be caught dead flying the A380.........If Lawerence was still around, it would be an all Boeing fleet. He's the guy who killed the one-11's after Braniff had enough 727's to fill the void.
The Concords were code-shared. BN never owned one.
