It's grainy and shakey; but here is video of Jr. for 1 lap at NASCAR Preseason Thunder at LVMS Tues. Jan 28th, 2008. The new cars look good. He ran both the AMP'ed & National Guard cars. The COTs seem slower than the '07 cars that ran here last year.
Gee that's exciting...watching a bunch of cars drive fast in a circle...Oh Vey just hang me first...

I'm just wondering if you still believe that after Michael McDowell's big wreck at Texas.

No, they are slower. Weather (among many other things) determine track records. The COT's are absolutely slower in the center of the corner than the previous car.

I think it was a huge mistake to even introduce the COT's. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But I guess we will just have to live with it.

They say the COT is supposed to be slower, however, during the testing period the COT broke the LVMS previous speed records.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series sophomore Juan Pablo Montoya placed his name at the top of
the list as testing came to a close at LVMS today. Montoya's No. 42A Texaco/Havoline Dodge blazed a lap of 28.914 sec./186.761 mph during the afternoon session of NASCAR Preseason Thunder Las Vegas, eclipsing the track record of 29.212 sec./184.856 mph set by Kasey Kahne in 2007.

The COTs are slower. They displace more air and don't turn as well (hopefully they get that fixed). They promise better racing, but I don't have my hopes up.
