Codename Eagle was a precursor game to BF1942, developed by the same guys, but they got bought out by Digital Illusions and thus went on to create the famous Battlefield series, which is why the gameplay is so similar. This game released in 1998 i believe; 3 years before 1942. This game is set in an alternate reality, in the year 1917 following ww1, but the Russians are fighting the Allies. The Russian Revolution never happened in this game's chronology. Nonetheless this game is the bo diggidy!

I don't think anyone knew the potential this game had (I'm sure I did'nt). It was just another game but could never figure this would be "the grandpa" of sandbox-1st person shooters.

The best thing about this game was the INSANELY EPIC BUGS!
Nothing like flying a zeppelin 100 ft. underground and being invincible.

@GraZss i have the game with crack but it to run smoothly below windows 2000 only crashes on xp, vista, and 7. no patch seems to work for me. for downloading try torrent search......... it was a very good game when i played it on win 98, would like to play again on xp. PLEASE HELP.

I don't know, maybe you could buy it online somwhere. I've had it a long time :I My brother bought it, i think. This game must have been revolutionary when it came out.
