  • Bit of a downer that we didn't get to see the scope work as good as it should've...but I def look foward to seeing the improved version. Keep us posted.

  • i upgraded in my other vid

  • thats relly dandrous because the crt tube can act as a capacitor and the discharge can easaly kill you. I got shocked from a simular experiment but I was lucky.

  • lol thats why i run tin foil over all caps including the transformer and i dont touch it directly that would be silly lol

  • Hi, I'll probably seem like a jerk for saying this, but the "uf" on capacitors stands for Micro-Farad. It's not actually a "u".

Keep experimenting! By the way I tried something similar - when I was a kid I connected the audio out of an amplifier to the video RCA input of a tv. A very osciliscope-like image, but when I turned the volume up the input died. Probably a diode burned out. rats.

  • lol all caps were discharged before i started including the transformer

  • I jailbroke my iPhone and used an app.

  • if you do this, make sure you have a defibrillator and a second person who can useit.

  • If you have a bad heart/weak heart, the discharge from a CRT tube could cause heart failure.

  • ive been zapped by a live tv like that and it didnt hurt one bit. all it does is sends a high voltage arc to you and you instantly repel. no damage done, its like one of those trick lighters.

  • No you wont get kill of the discharge of the CRT tube. It simply hurt a lot, and for better result put a small amp to drive the coil i use a small lm386 power amp work quite good.
