The resignation of Aaron Ringera is another low moment for State House as it marked a comprehensive drubbing by parliament that began with the members of parliaments resounding rejection of President Kibakis appointment of Aaron Ringera. As Rashid Ronald reports, Ringeras resignation is yet another triumph for a parliament that is increasingly asserting itself in the management of national affairs.

  • This is a good day for Kenyans. Even if this may not be the impression now, we should view the success of Parliament to eject Ringera from KACC, in the long run, as the supremacy of the rule of the majority over individualisation of public policy and decision making. We should remember, it is the misguided obduracy of Samuel Kivuitu and individual decision to declare President Kibaki the winner of 2007 Presidential elections, that led to the post election violence.
