It's very hard to improve on the appropriately icy atmosphere of the original. That one really IS chilling - with those funereal synths and doomy deadweight ambience. This mix is obviously intended to lighten it considerably, but I prefer the heavy oppressiveness of the original album track. In fact Pornography stands alone amongst the Cure's entire output as the one album that is perfect in its intensity and needs no tweaking or remixing. It does the job just as it stands.
