Basically like we used to do in our Dodge, Chevy, and Ford vans back in the mid 1970's, except fancier, and without shag carpeting. LOL! Thank you for posting this! The first time I saw the Transit van I knew it would make a good conversion project. Well done, Sir!

Awesome work! Wish I had the skills/tools/time/space to do such a thing..but alas..I'm opting for the next best thing..buying a Class B Motorhome by Roadtrek!

@motorhomeplanet thank you for the quick reply! I am very impressed and inspired. I will be using your great work as reference for when I will convert my van. Thank you so much and cheers to your home!

I've just bought a Peugeot Boxer 16 seat minibus for this purpose. It's longer and higher inside than a Transit, all in it should cost me about £3000/£3500 including the £1100 purchase price of the bus. I have a mate who is a boat builder by trade and he is doing most of the work ;) . Ours will be a 4 berth set up with the lounge area directly behind the driver seat converting into a double bed and the other double bed made from the dining area at the back doors with toilet/cooker between

you put a toilet in that tiny little camper? seriously bad idea
Soundgarden8497 4 weeks ago
@Soundgarden8497 I'm not sure why you would say that. I think it's a great idea - in fact it is essential for the way we use the camper.
We do not generally stay on campsites and like to wild camp completely self sufficiently. A toilet is essential and is not a hygiene/smell hazard as it is kept clean and closed when not in use.
Cheers, Roland

How big is the back (not including diver's compartment) in feets? and what is your cabinet material? Because the surface looks very nice.

@Principalies Thanks for your comment. The back is about 7' 10" long and 5' 8" wide. The cabinets are made with a specialist lightweight ply board which is made by a company called Vohringer. It is designed for motorhomes and similar applications and the veneer is very hard wearing. I'm very pleased with it, although it is more expensive than standard plywood. Different finishes are available.
