How to play effective guitar solos people will remember?

In today's episode, I'll share with you a few ideas to help you organize your guitar leads so that they have a higher impact on the listeners. Knowing how to play effective leads is the secret to better musicianship.

The idea is to say a bit less. Fewer words have a much better impact if chosen carefully.

  • haha, you have an interesting point of view/opinion, but I actually much preferred your first improvisation. Your first set would appeal more to musicians, because it had more variation (plus) and more emotion in my mind (plus), the second one had more repetition (negative) and was simpler (negative) and was just less interesting. However, to a listener with less musical experience, they may prefer the second set because of its simplicity and their lack of brain space for complexity.

  • @69Mushrooms I'd say its more complex to come up with something memorable then shred over your scales over and over again. Repetition isn't necessarily simpler and appealing to ''musicians'' has little to do with complexity.

  • This is especially why I love guitarists like Frusciante. His leads and riffs are so simple and concise that they just strike a chord in you and you instantly remember them

  • Definitely falls under the 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you should' category. Great lesson!

  • @69Mushrooms I disagree with you in many ways. First of all, simpler does not in any way mean worse or "negative. " Simplicity, when used right, can make the most powerful most memorable and best music ever. Music experience has very little to do with how well you can construct music. Brain capacity? More complicated music is in no way better music. Example: Jimi Hendrix is better than Steve Vai. Vai is better technically and more complicated but the few notes Jimi played were more than enough.

  • @InventingTheSteel Thanks for watching!
