Orihime Inoue - Shattered

The first thing im sure you will all notice is that the most important character in Orihime's life is totally omitted from this video and makes NO appearance until the disclaimer in the ending. I did this to try and show the video as more of a point of view, and less of a pairing ship between just 2 people, even if it is completely canon. It was extremely hard not putting him in this video since the bond these two share, the love between them, its just so strong i'm surprised it hasn't broken a hole between realitys and killed us all. Just to note, ive been getting requests from people for 'pairing' videos a lot, and whilst i cant imagine myself making any, (Excluding my 'OTP' featured in the outro) I did do a bit of fan service for those people in this, just for fun, because i care! =P I most likely will do more with the Rangiku/Gin thing in my next general Bleach project.

OPTIONAL RANT (maybe spoilery to those who dont read the book)

The basic idea behind this is that as a character, Orihime was always just a little girl in this big world. If she tried to help, people hate her for it, if she does nothing, people still hate her for it. It seems everyone expects so much from this character, yet simply dont want to see her succeed at anything. Mostly its because of ichiruki delirium, for some its just the voice actors, somewhere out there are mature people who may not like her simply for who she is, but dont feel the need to strangle puppys, shoot their parents or send me hate mail over it. Unlike the shinigami with lengthy historys, and characters like Ichigo, Ishida and Chad who had spiritual experience or souls better suited to a life of battle, Orihime lacked both experience and intent. Despite all this, with a touch of naivete and lack of awareness, she threw herself in to the fray for the sake of the people she cared about and as a result went through one of the most dreadful ordeals of any of kubo's characters.

The song name seemed perfect since we see this young, ordinary character layered, broken down and becoming a little bit more special. All she ever did was fall in love, despite accepting she had no chance, this feeling has endured everything that could be thrown at it. She is consistantly forced to make decisions for which there is no 'right answer', only bad and worse ones. Faith or judgement, the strength of her beliefs and nature in a violent, dangerous place. I felt she came a long way when she admitted not being afraid to die, a lot of haters say she was selfish for that, but i think she was right on the money there. She knew Ulquiorra could end her life but she didnt break down or play in to his mind games, and she believed no matter what, that they all shared a connection he could never break even by killing her, and i feel this is something he came to realise too. She wasn't saying 'OMG PLZ KILL ME', she was answering a question.

Everyone kept expecting her to turn round and have like, this one amazing, defining moment where shed say 'oh hey, i get it, all this development crap, i can kick this guys ass now', but it never came. And now we know why. After the time skip Orihime has emerged as a confidant, level headed, collected and brave young woman whilst still retaining the core elements that make her so charming. There was never going to be a sudden earth changing moment, because what we witnessed is essentially the moulding of a back story and experience to temper an inexperienced soul in to an experienced one. We got to see her story unfold from its very first step, and though the new arc is in an early stage, its quite clear that shes now comfortable in her own skin, and is not only prepared to handle a crisis, but emotionally convicted to do so. From the little we've seen so far she is no longer content in having faith that others will be okay, and seems to be more resolute in doing what she can for them herself. I cant wait to see her ups and downs from this point on, as she is the only character in this story who feels truly alive to me with her desires and imperfections.

I love how you make these. Orihime is my favorite character in Bleach. She's honest, caring, kind, and so much more=) I love how it feels you give her this voice that only you seem to truely understand, and I love you for it=D I can't stand the amount of hate this girl gets simply because she's in love with the lead guy and her breasts are big. I absolutely enjoyed watching all these videos that you made for Orihime. She will always be my most favorite character in Bleach. It is just so hard to read/watch things without anyone hating on her and I mean everything. I think you do her character a great justice by writing the truth.
