@viMasterJag Not to mention facehuggers and a queen alien

I love AvP. It really is one of my all-time favourites. Even the PC one, several years later (and also made by Rebellion?) lacked some of the great features on the Jag original. The coccooning for instance. And the multiple vision spectrums of the Predator.
I also like the way you didn't start as thr marine with the motion tracker - it made you appreciate it much more when you actually got it. A great game.

Yes. You are pretty lame.

EGM was unabashedly biased against Atari for some reason. I distinctly remember the review you're alluding, and it was essentially a petty, vacuous hatchet job. On the one hand, they dismissed AVP for the Jag as being "just another Doom clone", and then proceeded to hammer the game for not being anything like Doom. The fact that the player actually has to plan his alien kills carefully to avoid their acidic corpses is an integral part of the marine mission. EGM dismissed this as a bug. Stupid.

I've played EVERY version of the Alien and Predator games, from psx to the pc, this one wipes the floor with them all!
Something about this game just feels right!

I'm playing little else at the moment and I got PLENTY of choices!
This IS the daddy!

AAsHHHH but the feel of this game was/is second to none.
I have Doom 3, Half Life 2 and many more, and this is the game I play the most!
Total,utter classic!
This game has the creepiest sound effects I've ever heard. And yes, I mean that in a good way.
A question: I read on a website that this was the first Jaguar game to come out in Europe, and for over a year it was the ONLY Jag game in Europe. Is this true? Were Atari expecting Europeans would import most of their games, since the Jag has no region protection?

I'm unsure about that.
Atari was pretty big in Europe back in those days (talking about the Atari computers) and you'd think they would be smart and build upon that.
It wouldn't surprise me, though.

That's the truth!
When you hear it for the first time in the game, you literally want to shut off the jag and run in a corner and hide :D
Seriously, though, this game is one of the scariest I've played. It's the whole ambience... no music... just killers!
