The 6.5 GM engine supercharged, note 18:1 Compression ratio, so dont think you can just slap one on and away you go. 300HP seems to be a safe level which puts it in the realms of the duramax. Here in Australia Duramax trucks are still expensive, but us off roaders are using the 6.5 in Cruisers and Patrols even in some fords.

I am rebuilding one of these right now with an improved block . It is being a learning experience . I hope to have a better understanding of this engine when finished !!!

check out the newer 6.5 they released.improved strength block,forged crank,better alloy heads,stronger rods and lower comp pistons.300hp stock.they finally made the 6.5 how it should have always been
