Thai pigs head ceremony in Isaan

This was filmed by my sister in law in the upstairs of my wife's parent's house in Buriram, Thailand. Thai people believe that this ceremony brings good luck for the couple that it involves. I was rather bemused by it all but fascinated at the same time. The ceremony involves a recently cut off pig's head, soft drinks, alcohol, food and flowers. Lit candles are placed in the nostrils of the pig and before the ceremony started I had to present the offerings to my wife's parents. This is followed by lots of chanting and blessings before the party moves outside to the houses spirit house where more offerings are made to Buddha.
