In this video I outline my complete washing regimen. Pre-pooing, dcing, the works :)

I use amla oil but you can really use any oil you choose. i think olive or coconut oil might even be a better option because amla has mineral oil. it's working so i'll stick with it til the bottle is done.
-massaging the scalp with oil helps decrease dry scalp issues for the week.
-when i do protein treatment I do it in place of my regular pre-poo. a product like megatek or aphogee has alot of protein. However, i wouldn't recommend using protein every week unless your hair has an affinity to it.
-i pre-poo with heat but i don't think its necessary. Also, you can cut down the times to 15 min. and 30 min. for pre-pooing and deep conditioning respectively
-styling: whatever style you choose to do on damp hair be sure to seal in moisture paying special to the ends. i use castor oil b/c it is simply ahhh-mazing!
maintaining: i spritz hair lightly with water each night and seal with castor oil. i then place a shower cap on, followed by my satin scarf. this is the baggie method and is great to do, at least a few nights in the week if your hair is prone to dryness.

  • Gorgeous hair! Have you ever tried co washing? That might ease the second day dryness...It works for me and I'm a 4b/c

  • @babyboo122 now i use a better leave in :). i actually think i'm going to re-visit co-washing but only b/c i'm lazy and my hair isgetting longer. it is about 6 inches longer that it was in this video. i shampoo every two weeks and co- wash the other 2.

  • I think Im gon try that. Im always scared to shampoo cause my hair always feels so perfect right before its time to wash, then it takes FOREVER to to get it moisturized and reduce breakage. Have you ever had issues with breakage? How did u combat it?

  • @LadyLuckPro i know what you mean. i find that a product with aloe vera helps. i do the kimmay tube leave in. also, i moisturize twice a day the two days after i wash. after that the hair feels "normal" again. i don't have an issue with breakage. after i comb during my was THAT IS IT for the week. my hair only sees a comb on wash day when my hair is coated with oil, conditioner and running under the shower. detangling is fairly simple.

  • I love this video. It is very helpful!

But I do have one question about deep conditioning. Is it better to deep condition your hair dry or once you've washed/pre-pooed the hair?

  • @AllNaturalEpiphany now, i only pre-poo. i find that this step gets rids of tangles and conditions my hair very well.doing it again after i've washed seemed to be unnecessary. if i were relaxed i wouldn't pre poo but deep condition instead. but because i NEED my detangling in the shower to be stress free, coating my hair with oil and conditioner before hand is a life saver for real. the key is to shampoo with a sulfate free product so you don't strip the hair.

  • I was told i had 4a hair but my hair looks like yours when its wet. So im prolly 4b. But! I tried mane n tail leave in spray, but it made my hair very crunchy..! Do yu ever have that problem?

  • this is hw ma hair looks when its wet! and i cnt believe u got it sooo long. im determined to grow ma hair. you've inspired me to

  • Maybe he likes you people always got something to say when they want attention.

  • You know I love your channel because you are consistent with taking care of your hair and that is something I've noticed a lot of naturals on youtube are not. A lot of naturals will start off taking good care of their hair and uploading videos showing their progress up until a year and then after a year, they'll stop and you may not even hear from them again. But, you've been consistent for nearly 3 years and watching youtubers, like you, makes me want to continue my natural hair journey.

  • Great tutorial beauty!
