I believe you're wrong on the first recording. Eddie Noack is definetely before 1974. Sounds more like the 50's to me. What do ya think?

You're right - I just checked and Eddie Noack recorded his version in 1968!

I don't think Leon Payne actually recorded it. According to Landon and Stambler's Encyclopedia of Folk, Country and Western Music, he wrote this song when he was under contract to Acuff-Rose in the 1960's. There is a rumour that he asked that "Psycho" not be recorded until after his death! The first recording of the song seems to be by Jack Kittell in 1974.

That's right! He did some recordings for the K-ARK label 'round that time..

I own the "Dolores" 45 (on K-ARK)..

Still looking for "Psycho" 45 though...
