Recorded gameplay of me playing Metroid Prime, using the GCN and Wii emulator "Dolphin". Video uploaded to demonstrate Dolpin's capabilities.

Recorded with FRAPS, edited and encoded with Camtasia Studio 6.

Graphics Plugin: Direct3D9
Audio Plugin: Dolphin DSP-HLE
Enable Dual-Core: Yes
Enable Idle-Skipping: Yes
Frame Limit: Use FPS for Limiting
Resolution: 1280x720

Important: "Safe Textures Cache" is on. Game does not render correctly without it.

  • @Marth8880 Maybe a regional difference then? The version I used here was PAL.

  • Is it normal that Dolphin runs slowly on AMD hardware? I have a Phenom 9850 and it runs rather slow for me.

  • @l33tpete Try build r6515 if it's slow for you. It's usually noted as the fastest build.

  • @kyledawg92 Hmm, that could definitely be a possibility; I own the NTSC version.

  • I take it this was run using a disc image of the game, correct?

  • 9 years later, Metroid Prime still looks gorgeous especially on dolphin emulator

  • How well will I be able to run most Gamecube and Wii games with my setup? Will I be able to play them at a high resolution with a solid framerate? Also, how would I make backups of my own copies?
