I didn't care for Rose at all, which I hate to say because I know Terrell loved working with Alex Neil. That was a very disheartening time for me re: watching and I started my descent to former viewer around then.

I agree the the whole "Sonni/Solita" storyline was confusing and very long...I think it took about a year and half to wrap up. But I will admit that Michelle Forbes was fascinating to watch. She was Annie Dutton before Annie Dutton.

Reva in the nun outfit is hilarious. Since Reva had a young child at this time I'm surprised she worked so hard in something that didn't have to involve her.

What did you think of Rusty and Rose? Since Rusty left anyway, I'm surprised they just didn't have them go together instead of killing her off.

Actually I think the writer's strike was earlier. I remember Terrell Anthony saying that was the reason that Rose and Rusty went to some extra seedy motels. I always blamed that strike for the untimely end of my fave GL couple, Rusty and Mindy, who at the time were more popular than Josh and Reva -- which obviously couldn't be stood for!

This is definitely during the writer's strike of 1988, there is just a lack of a clear direction in the way these scenes play out (of course, I would say they are no worse than current day GL in that way).
