As Portland's original major professional sports franchise, the Buckaroos captured the hearts and minds of the Rose City from 1960 to 1974. Heroes were created, championships were won and the city became a permanent home for the players. Saturday, March 14 marks the largest gathering of Buckaroos players since they skated their final shift together as teammates. Join the Winter Hawks as they salute the Buckaroos and raise their Championship Banner to it's rightful place: the rafters of the Memorial Coliseum.

Pretty cool as he is my dad too. This is the first time I've ever seen anything this detailed about him on the net, and here is a half sister I knew was out there. We should talk.

I have many great memories of the Buckaroos visiting Salt Lake to play the Golden Eagles back in the days of the old WHL--Art Jones, Andy Hebenton, Cliff Schmautz, Connie Madigan, Jerry Korab, Rick Foley, Jim McLeod, Larry Leach, Bill Saunders--lots of talented players and great teams through the years.
The Buckaroos always gave the Golden Eagles a run for their money in Salt Lake's early years. Art Jones gave me a puck once during a Buckaroo practice at the old Salt Palace. Great memories!
